  • The tidal reach of the Anacostia is 8.4 miles

  • There are 13 sub-watersheds of the Anacostia River

  • 25% of the watershed is forested, 

  • The Anacostia River is both free-flowing and tidal

  • 3,208 acres of wetlands (3% of the watershed)

  • 7,500 acres of wetlands have been lost
