  Tree Planting

Trees help preserve our planet and restore our rivers by cooling the waters with their shade, stabilizing the soils with their roots, and providing protective buffers for our waterways. They also provide crucial wildlife habitat, life-giving oxygen and uplifting beauty which recharges the human spirit. The Anacostia Watershed Society has a goal of reforesting the entire watershed to a point where the natural ecosystems are once again in balance.
