TEACHER RESOURCES – HOME  

Watershed Demonstrations . Photos of demonstration set-ups for Watershed Explorers activities.

Downloads . Maps and other useful images to aid in teaching about the Anacostia Watershed.

River Trips . Field studies of the Anacostia River via canoes or pontoon boat.

Restoration Activities . Opportunities for student service-learning projects focused on restoring the Anacostia River.

Teacher Trainings . AWS has 3 teacher trainings per year that cover our Watershed Explorers and River Habitat programs. We also provide certification in the Project WET and Project WILD national environmental education curricula.

Additional Resources . Other Web sites with additional background information on the Anacostia watershed, as well as some sources for funding school projects.

Watershed Explorers and River Habitat. For new teachers who have not worked with AWS in the past. AWS environmental educators will work with you to provide a full program of classroom lessons, river trips, and service-learning projects.
