Explanation

As far as AWS can determine from the available data, the Anacostia River has never met the Water Quality Standard set by the State of Maryland.
Instead of using fecal coliform as fecal indicator bacteria, the State of Maryland has switched to using E. Coli. and Enterococci. But AWS, to remain consistent with past measurements, continues to use fecal coliform.
