Event Description: Join us for a fun nature walk where we will explore the ecology of the winter woods and wetlands of Colmar Manor Community Park which includes the floodplains of the Anacostia River and Dueling Creek. During this family event we will also look for deer shed antlers and learn about the biology of the White-tailed Deer in the Anacostia River watershed. You don't need to be a deer hunter to appreciate some nice buck antlers! Participants will learn about the art of finding dropped antlers.

This is an excellent opportunity to explore a nice and a rather sub-utilized park along the Anacostia River and to learn about the biodiversity of the Anacostia watershed.

Requirements: This will be a moderate hike with some minor slopes and some muddy spots. Please dress in layers and wear hiking shoes, work boots or insulated rubber boots.

Registration is required. Please register at least 2 days prior to the event date. This event may be canceled suddenly due to unfavorable weather conditions.
