Details: From Paddle Nights to Safari Series, to cleanups and plantings... you've heard a lot about the Anacostia Watershed Society's work above the surface of the Anacostia River. This month's Watershed Wednesday goes to the riverbed and explores the makeup of the sediment there.

Our guest this month is Richard Jackson from the District Department of Energy and Environment who is going to give a talk about the chemicals and toxics found in the Anacostia River. You will also hear about the methods used to get samples for sediment studies, and how these things are evaluated.

Hosting us this month is The Big Stick, a lovely spot near the Navy Yard/Ballpark metro station. Their happy hour specials include $2 off all drinks, and check out their "Wedge Wednesday" specials of $2 off those items. Enjoy a brew and a delicious sausage, and learn something about the Anacostia River!

Thank you Big Stick!
