Come discover your Anacostia by joining AWS in the FREE Paddle Nights on the Anacostia Program this summer!  AWS provides the canoes, life jackets, paddles and safety lesson: everything you’ll need to have a great paddling experience.  The events are first-come first-served, and we encourage participants to spend no more than 45 minutes on the water so we can accomodate everyone!

Kenilworth Park is one of the best places to see a quieter and more serene Anacostia River.  Because this site right next door to the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, the plant and wildlife here is abundant.  Experience for yourself the fun that can be had in this special spot on the Anacostia River.

At the Kenilworth Park site canoes will be launched from the river-bank off of Deane Ave.  The easiest way to find the launch-site is to follow Deane Ave NE past the recreation center.  At approximately 4000 Deane Ave (or slightly thereafter) AWS staff and the canoe trailers will be visible.

The Kenilworth Park site is accessible via car, bus, and is approximately a one-mile walk from the Minnesota Ave Station on the Orange.  Gravel parking is available on site.

Please click here for a map of the meeting location.

Our Paddle Nights are FREE events.  Please consider making a $10 non-refundable donation to support recreation, education and stewardship programs at AWS.  Your donation allows AWS to continue our work toward a fishable and swimmable river by 2025. Please note in the donation form that this is a contribution to Paddle Nights.

This donation will not be refunded if the event is cancelled for any reason.
