The Anacostia River: Making Connections

By Jim Foster, President

The cleanup, restoration, and revitalization of the Anacostia does not happen because of one politician, organization, donor or person.  It happens because many people, organizations, and governments are working together, rising to the challenge, and making the connections to support the work.

This film by Stone Soup Films, made possible by the Summit Fund of Washington, beautifully makes that point and highlights the important work that - just to name a few- the Anacostia Watershed Society, Groundworks DC, the Pearl Coalition, Washington Parks & People, Federal City Council, George Washington University, Trash Free Maryland, the District Department of the Environment, and many community members are all carrying out.  We dearly thank the Summit Fund for their many years of support for the Anacostia River's revival.

Also, don't miss the great timeline near the end of the film that outlines important legislation, committees, and developments on the river!
