Make Your Voice Heard on Quality of Life in Prince George's County

This Thursday, June 9, 2011, at 10:00am in room 2027 of the County Administration Building in Upper Marlboro, the Prince George's County Council will hear CB-15-2011.  This bill will set standards for stormwater management on future developments in the county.  What's at stake?  Whether the county will build green or build gray.

Development for our quality of life, or for developers?

The time has come to turn a new page in Prince George's County.  For too long we have let the development community build what they want, where they want, and how they want, with little regard to the community's needs.  This attitude has resulted in totally inadequate stormwater management in the county, which causes: flooding for residents and businesses, erosion of our stream beds, and damage to park lands.  And who pays for to clean up after the developer's pollution -- taxpayers!

As The Gazette openly wonders, will the County Council stand up to developers?
