AWS and its partners in the Toxics Team invite you to a community meeting regarding the cleanup of the Pepco Benning Road site.  The lead sponsor is Toxics Team member DC Environmental Health Collaborative, led by Dr. Janet Phoenix.

Description:

  • Toxic chemical spills at the PEPCO Benning Road facility have created a serious pollution problem
  • On February 2, 2011 the DC Department of the Environment (DDOE) announced an agreement with PEPCO to clean up the PEPCO facility.
  • Come find out more about what this might mean for the health of the river and the health of the communities living near the facility.
  • DDOE and PEPCO are drafting plans for cleanup
  • Get involved in this process
