Events DC in partnership with the Anacostia Watershed Society are co-hosting monthly Anacostia Riverwalk Cleanups and we would like for you to join in helping to beautify and restore your Anacostia River!
The area surrounding RFK stadium sees a lot of use by members of our community. By volunteering with us you'll be a vital part of restoring, maintaining, and cleaning up the beautiful Anacostia Riverwalk Trail.
As a special thank you from Events DC previously volunteers have been provided with D.C. United tickets, a special barbecue, and other means of shoring our gratitude for helping maintain a clean riverwalk trail.
Upcoming Events: The next Events DC Riverwalk clean-up will be on the evening of Tuesday May 10th. More information and registration available here
These events will be taking a break for the winter, check back in the early spring for new opportunities to get involved!
Volunteer Description: Closed-toed shoes are required and long pants are recommended to prevent poison ivy and insect bites. Please wear sunscreen and bring a re-usable water bottle. Water coolers will be provided.
Physical Requirements: Walking, bending, and carrying over some distance will be required.
Meeting Location: Meeting locations vary by month. Please check the specific calendar event for the info relating to that month. Please click here for a map of the RFK Parking Lots.
The closest metro is Stadium/Armory (Blue/Orange/Silver Lines) and is about a 17 minute walk.
Note: The restroom on site is a port-o-potty.
