Maddie develops and leads AWS's school-based programs for watershed youth; creates and provides boat tours, canoe trips, walks, and other community-based programs for participants of all ages; facilitates AWS's Maryland Master Naturalist program for adult learners; and assists with river restoration projects.

Maddie has many years of experience providing meaningful learning opportunities for youth and their families.  Prior to returning to AWS (she used to be the volunteer coordinator!) she worked as an educator and naturalist with Howard County Recreation and Parks, Carroll County Recreation and Parks, and the Audubon Naturalist Society.

Maddie is passionate about helping people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities connect to the river in ways that are most meaningful to them! She is a life-long Washington, D.C. area resident and is grateful for the continued opportunity to share the river with others.
