Meg Voorhis
Meg leads all Anacostia Watershed Society's internal operations including finance, IT, facilities/equipment, vendor management, talent management & HR, compliance, safety, and training. As a member of the senior leadership team, she ultimately serves as an enabler for the next horizon of strategic impact for AWS and the watershed that we serve.
Prior to joining AWS, Meg dedicated two-decades as a nationally recognized leader fostering innovation, elevating organizational and team effectiveness, and building sustainable capabilities for public and private sector organizations worldwide through management consulting and technology firms. Driven by her passion for ecosystem interconnectedness, ecopreneurship, and environmental stewardship, she is a Master Naturalist by training, and previously served as a non-profit strategy and service design advisor for the UN development goals through Design For Good.
She’s lived in the Anacostia Watershed in Washington DC for close to 20 years, and frequently rides her bike along its trails. She’s also an ASA certified sailor, free-diver, and avid open water swimmer, including completing multiple open water races in and around the Chesapeake Bay (and one-day soon the Anacostia!)
