Reyna Askew
Education:
BA in International Relations from The Ohio State University MA in International Relations with a concentration in Energy, Resources, and Environment from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS)

Reyna joined Anacostia Watershed Society in 2019, bringing her passion for protecting people and planet to AWS to fight for swimmable and fishable Anacostia River. As the Manager of Community-Based Restoration, Reyna oversees the stormwater management, habitat restoration, pollution reduction, community engagement programs at AWS. In addition, she runs the Watershed Stewards Academy – National Capital Region. Before working at AWS, Reyna worked to train the next generation of green leaders with Rock Creek Conservancy's Conservation Corps program and worked to expand clean energy access in underserved communities, with the solar power non-profit, GRID Alternatives. Reyna is from the Cleveland area, where her love for the environment first emerged while teaching environmental classes and leading seasonal hikes as a Summer Camp Naturalist at the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes in Shaker Heights, Ohio. A true lover of animals and nature, Reyna can be seen in her free time, hanging out on roof decks, hiking, camping and going on adventures with her dog, September.
