Our Maryland Master Naturalist program is for you!

We're excited to be a host site for the Maryland Master Naturalist program for a second time this summer!

The 100-hour program consists of training in natural history topics - birds, reptiles, fish, trees, fungi, etc. led by experts in the field; as well as hands-on volunteer work at AWS in the year following the training.
This summer's program will take place on Saturdays, typically 8:30am - 4pm, from June 1st - August 10th (no sessions on July 6th), here at our office in Bladensburg.

We'll be taking field trips to spots along the river - Anacostia Park, Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, the National Arboretum - and there's time in the schedule for boating, paddling, and exploring!

If you are interested in learning more, please visit the webpage or contact us directly (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. / 301-699-6204 ext. 112).

Applications for the program can be downloaded; then emailed (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or sent via snail mail to our office.  The application period is open through March 31st!
