    Join the Anacostia Watershed Society for a boat tour on the Anacostia River to explore the ecological and historical changes that have occurred in the river and in the communities around the river. We will have the opportunity to witness some of the restoration of river habitats and how it has caused the rebound of the wildlife in the Anacostia River. We will be hosting morning and afternoon boat tours to kickoff our 2025 boating season! You can join us from 10 am - 12 pm at Anacostia Park.4 pm - 6 pm tour from the Bladensburg Waterfront Park is CANCELLED.

    Our partners at the Friends of Anacostia Park will be hosting the 2025 DCPS Spring Break NatureFest at the Anacostia Park Roller Skating Pavillion! NatureFest is a week-long event during DCPS spring break, providing a safe space for youth ages 5 - 12 and their families to connect with nature and build lasting memories. Each day offers a variety of activities including boat rides on the Anacostia River, scavenger hunts, arts & crafts, live animals, skating, and more! The Anacostia Watershed Society will be offering free 1-hour back-to-back boat tours as part of this event from 11 am - 2 pm. Families, youth day camps and recreation centers are welcome. Youth must be joined by a chaperone throughout the duration of the event. Monday's Theme - YAY Nature Day!
