DC Department of Parks and Recreation, DC Natives, and a dedicated group of community gardeners are all working to improve this space by creating a food forest and meadow habitat adjacent to the community garden. Join us on March 21st as we continue to work together to restore and enhance this habitat. Work will include mulching, removing invasives, installing signage, etc.
From 03/21/20 10:00 am until 03/21/20 1:00 pmVolunteers will join staff from the Anacostia Watershed Society to plant native shrubs, grasses, and perennials in a new rain garden and Bayscape area at St. Paul's Rock Creek cemetery, a cemetery in the Anacostia River Watershed. The rain garden was installed in December 2019 and is a part of an effort to reduce the amount of stormwater that enters the Anacostia River and eventually the Chesapeake Bay. By participating in this project, volunteers will help AWS to reduce stormwater and pollutants from going into the Anacostia River!
