  Nash Run Trash Sorting Challenge

  Together we will sort trash that has been removed from the Nash Run trash trap into 13 categories. We will count the pieces of trash and measure the weight and volume for each category. The data volunteers help us collect will be used to educate the public and advocate for a better practice, such as the Bottle Deposit Bill. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the trash challenges of the Anacostia and what is being done to address them!

  7th Anacostia River Bioblitz - Hike at Kenilworth Park

  Join the Anacostia Watershed Society for our 7th Anacostia Rive Bioblitz! We will hike north from Kenilworth Park to see meadows, riparian forests, tidal marshland and the Anacostia River! Bring biodiversity field guides and waterproof shoes or rubber boots especially if you would like a closer look at the aquatic ecosystems. It will be a walk of approximately 1 mile roundtrip which may include muddy sections.
