Watershed Wednesday Environmental Justice Panel with Anacostia Community Museum

Join us for our next Watershed Wednesday! We will host a conversation around environmental justice issues in our community and feature local activists and organizations working to address these issues. Panelists include:
Lisa McClure
Associate Director, Center for Environmental Justice at the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum
Lisa oversees the strategic planning and implementation of the CEJ and grows collaborations and opportunities to connect and share about their environmental justice work.
Brenda Richardson
President, Chozen Consulting, LLC
Brenda is a longstanding member of the Anacostia community and is excited to speak about her experiences living and working in Anacostia, including the gentrification of the neighborhood, and community engagement and involvement in environmental justice.
Kaleigh Karageorge
Life on a Sustainable Planet, Environmental Justice Fellow
Kaleigh is a graduate student at Purdue University and is currently an Environmental Justice Fellow through the Life on a Sustainable Planet initiative at the Smithsonian Institution. Kaleigh is currently studying the relationship between smaller, grassroots environmental justice organizations and larger, more established environmental organizations in regard to growth and development.
Noelle Gonzalez Jackson
Environmental Justice Academy participant
Noelle was a participant in the 2024 Environmental Justice Academy where they spent the Spring and Summer learning about environmental justice, the connection and relationship between community and environment, and creating a capstone project to address an environmental injustice in their community.
