Sunset Boat Cruise from Bladensburg Waterfront Park

From 10/06/25 5:15 pm until 10/06/25 7:00 pm
Sunset Boat Cruise from Bladensburg Waterfront Park

Join Lindsay, Community Outreach Manager for Anacostia Watershed Society, for a sunset boat cruise along the Anacostia River on Monday, October 6th. This cruise is meant to be meditative and reflective, allowing us to connect with nature and ourselves. This boat cruise is a part of AWS' pilot Forest Bathing Program. Forest Bathing, originally a Japanese concept, is immersing oneself in a natural setting in order to experience its healing benefits. Lindsay has been training as a forest bathing guide through the Shinrin Yoku Association. You can learn more about forest bathing and the specific program here.

Come as you are, with an open mind, ready to experience the river at sunset.

Meeting Location: We will gather at the boat ramp at Bladensburg Waterfront Park at 4601 Annapolis Rd, Bladensburg, MD 20710. The park is accessible via Bike Trail (Anacostia Tributary Trail System: Anacostia River Trail). Parking is available.

What to Wear/Bring: We recommend wearing sunscreen and a hat and bringing water in a reusable water bottle(s). As the sun sets it will get chilly, so we recommend bringing a light jacket as well. Feel free to also bring a journal/notebook and a pen.

Note:

  • This boat cruise is weather dependent. We will proceed in light rain, but may need to cancel if there is heavy rain, lightning, or strong wind in the forecast.
  • If you are sick or exhibiting symptoms associated with COVID-19 (such as fever, chills, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, etc.), please do not come to the event and consider joining us another time.

If you have any questions prior to the boat tour, please contact Lindsay Allen at [email protected]. We look forward to hosting you on the river!
