Come explore with the Anacostia Watershed Society at Kingman Island Friends and Family Day on Saturday, October 17th from 11 am – 3 pm. Visit us at our table to meet our freshwater mussel friends and join us on the Anacostia River for motorized boat tours from 12 pm – 3 pm. Sign-ups for the boat tours will happen on-site.

This all ages event is a celebration of everything the Islands have to offer as a unique space in the District dedicated to conservation, environmental education, and recreation.

Activities will include paddling, motorized boat tours, guided nature walks, nature-forward and sustainable arts and crafts, a clothing swap, and more.

Advance registration for Kingman Island Friends and Family Day is encouraged but not required. You can register by clicking here.

This event is rain or shine, though we will cancel if thunderstorms and lightning are likely.
